Do I need an account to use MediWall?
No. MediWall has no account system at all — no email, no password, no sign-up. You download the app and start using it. That is also why we cannot see your data: there is no account for it to be attached to.
Where is my health data stored?
In an AES-256 encrypted database on your iPhone, protected by your device passcode and (optionally) Face ID. MediWall runs no servers that hold health data — your records never leave your device unless you export or back them up yourself.
Is MediWall free?
Yes, MediWall is free to use. There are no ads and your data is never sold or shared — the app is architected so we never even receive it.
Which hospitals or patient portals can I connect?
MediWall connects to hospitals and clinics whose patient portal runs on Epic (typically branded MyChart). You pick your health system in the app, sign in to your own portal account, and your records — medications, allergies, lab results, vitals, and visits — are released directly to your phone. Support for Oracle Health (Cerner) portals and Apple Health is planned next.
Does MediWall work offline?
Yes. Because everything is stored on your device, your records, medication schedule, and Emergency Card work with no signal at all — including in airplane mode and in hospital basements.
What happens if I lose or replace my phone?
If you enabled iCloud Backup in the app, an encrypted snapshot of your data lives in your personal iCloud, and restoring on a new iPhone brings everything back. The backup is encrypted with a key that only your own devices hold — MediWall never receives your backup or the key.
Can MediWall employees see my medical records?
No. There is no server copy to look at. Your records are encrypted on your device, and the optional backup is encrypted in your personal iCloud. This is a property of the architecture, not just a policy promise.
What data does MediWall collect?
The website waitlist stores the name and email you submit. The app can send de-identified usage statistics — counts of feature use only, never health data and never identifiers — and you can turn this off in Settings at any time.
Is MediWall a medical device? Does it give medical advice?
No. MediWall is an organizational tool: it keeps your records, medications, appointments, and notes in one place. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice — always talk to your care team about medical decisions.
Can I manage a family member’s health information?
Yes. Care Circle lets caregivers keep separate profiles — for example, one for yourself and one for a parent you care for — each stored in its own encrypted database on your phone.
Is there an Android version?
MediWall is iOS-first, with Android planned. Joining the waitlist is the best way to hear when Android testing opens.
When can I get the app?
The iOS beta is underway and the App Store launch is coming soon. Join the waitlist on the homepage and we will send you launch-day access.
